Chris Beal returns to bantamweight, meets Kid Yamamoto at UFC Fight Night 89 in Ottawa

A bantamweight bout has been added to the UFC Fight Night 89 card in Ottawa on June 18 as Chris Beal will meet Kid Yamamoto in a preliminary bout.

The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Friday.

UFC Fight Night 89 will take place on June 18 from The Arena at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and the event will be headlined by a welterweight bout as former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald meets Stephen Thompson.

Beal (10-2) entered the UFC as a bantamweight and won back to back fights in the 135 pound division. He ended up dropping down to the flyweight division and went 0-2, with the most recent defeat coming in August against Chris Kelades. Yamamoto (18-6, 2NC) enters this fight following a no-contest against Roman Salazar at UFC 184 and he is 1-5, 1NC in his last seven fights. His last win came in 2010 as he defeated Federico Lopez at DREAM 14.
