UFC 152 Preliminary Card Preview: Sean Pierson vs. Lance Benoist

The second fight on the UFC 152 Preliminary Card on FX will be the third and final welterweight fight on the card as Sean Pierson (12-6) takes on Lance Benoist (6-1).

Pierson was originally scheduled to meet Dan Miller on this card, but Miller pulled out of the fight recently due to his son having a kidney transplant operation.

Pierson is a four fight veteran of the UFC and has gone 2-2 in the organization. His losses in the UFC have come against notable fighters Jake Ellenberger and Dong Hyun Kim.

He is coming off a victory at UFC on FX 3 against Jake Hecht by unanimous decision and ten of his twelve victories are by stoppage, with six of them coming by knockout.

Benoist entered the UFC last year and defeated Matthew Riddle by unanimous decision and was awarded the fight of the night bonus. He returned earlier this year at UFC on FX 3 against Seth Baczynski and was defeated by split decision.

Pierson will look to keep the fight standing and Benoist will look to take the fight to the ground.

TheMMAReport.com predicts that Pierson will have issues stopping the takedowns of Benoist and the fight will go to the decision, with Benoist getting the victory.
