Strikeforce is scheduled to hold a fight card on January 12th in Oklahoma City and light heavyweight fighter Mike Kyle has said on a video on You Tube that he will be fighting Gegard Mousasi on the card.
The fight has not been announced by Strikeforce officials at this time and it’s unknown if the fight will be on the main or preliminary portion of the card.
Kyle (19-8-1, 1NC) has gone 3-3-1, 1NC in his eight career Strikeforce bouts, which have been as a heavyweight and light heavyweight.
His most recent bout took place at the Strikeforce card in May and originally was defeated by Rafael Cavalcante by knockout, but the fight was declared a no contest by the California State Athletic Commission when Cavalcante tested positive for a banned substance.
Mousasi (32-3-2) is a former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion and he is the current DREAM light heavyweight champion. He has gone 3-1-1 in Strikeforce with the lost coming to Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in his first Strikeforce title defense and the draw came against Keith Jardine last year.
Over his last 21 fights, he has gone 19-1-1, which includes wins over Hector Lombard, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Mark Hunt, Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Ovince St. Preux.
Strikeforce: Champions will take place on January 12th from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City and will be headlined by Luke Rockhold defending his Strikeforce middleweight title against Lorenz Larkin.
