The Resurrection Fighting Alliance held their first fight card since the merger with Titan Fighting Championships on Friday night in Las Vegas and former UFC fighter Tyson Griffin scored a decision victory over TUF alum Efrain Escudero.
Griffin (16-6) was able to control all three rounds to grind out a unanimous decision victory and two of the three judges scoring the fight gave him all three rounds.
He was able to control the standup portion of the fight and was able to defend the multiple submission attempts of Escudero. The best opportunities that Escudero had for submissions came in the first round. He attempted three separate armbar submissions and a guillotine choke. In the second and third round, Griffin was able to control the wrestling and Escudero had issues getting off his back.
This was the first fight for Griffin outside of the UFC since his release last year and he has now won two of his last three fights. On the other hand, this is the third straight lost for Escudero (18-6) and has not won a fight since last year.
