Strikeforce heads to Oklahoma City on January 12th with 3 title fights

Strikeforce will be heading to Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City on January 12th and the main card will have three title fights and the final Strikeforce fight for heavyweight tournament winner Daniel Cormier.

The fight card was announced by Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker today, which will see Gilbert Melendez (21-2) defend the lightweight title against Pat Healy (28-16), Luke Rockhold (10-1) defend the middleweight title against Lorenz Larkin (13-0, 1NC), Nate Marquardt (32-10-2) defend the welterweight title against Tarec Saffiedine (13-3) and Cormier (10-0) facing Dion Staring (28-7).

“We’ve built an absolutely stacked card for Oklahoma City and the SHOWTIME viewers,” Coker said. “We have three awesome title fights featuring some of the best fighters to ever grace the Strikeforce cage. Plus, we have Daniel Cormier, one of the fastest-rising heavyweight stars today, returning to his roots in Oklahoma to fight Dion Staring. January 12 is going to be a really special night.”

The fight card will air live on Showtime at 10 p.m ET and will be tape delayed on the west coast. The preliminary card will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be shown live on the east coast on Showtime Extreme.

Tickets for this Strikeforce fight card will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 16th at 12 p.m. CT and are priced at $150, $100, $70 and $50. Tickets will be available at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office, all Ticketmaster locations, Ticketmaster.com or 1-800-745-3000.
