A pair of featherweight bouts have been added to The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale as Cole Miller will meet Bart Palaszewski and Justin Lawrence will take on Daniel Pineda.
UFC officials announced the fight bookings today and both fights will likely take place on the preliminary card.
Miller (18-7) has been in the UFC since 2007 and has gone 7-5 as a lightweight and featherweight. After defeating TJ O’Brien in 2011, he decided to drop down to featherweight and has lost back to back fights in the 145 pound division. Both of his losses were by decision and he recently lost a split decision to Nam Phan at UFC on FOX 4.
Palaszewski (36-16) has lost two of three since coming to the UFC in the merger with the WEC and his only UFC win came in his debut against Tyson Griffin at UFC 138, which he won the knockout of the night bonus. Since that win, he has lost to Hatsu Hioki and Diego Nunes which were both by unanimous decision.
Lawrence (4-1) is a TUF 15 Alum and has gone 1-1 in the UFC. He won his official UFC debut at the live finale over John Cofer, which he won the knockout of the night and fight of the night bonus. He returned at UFC 150 and was defeated in the second round against Max Holloway in his UFC featherweight debut.
Pineda (17-9) openend his UFC career with back to back victories, which both wins were by submission in the first round. Since those wins, he has lost back to back fights with the most recent defeat coming by knockout at UFC 149 against Antonio Carvalho.
The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale will take place on April 13 from The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending the UFC flyweight title against John Moraga.
