Bellator officials confirmed the main event, along with the complete eleven fight card to TheMMAReport.com on Tuesday.

In addition to the title fight, the main card on Spike TV will feature Bobby Lashley vs. Karl Etherington, Marloes Coenen vs. Annalisa Bucci, and Dave Jansen vs. Rick Hawn.

Bellator 124 will come from the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas on October 24th and tickets for the event are currently on sale at Ticketmaster.

Newton (24-7-1) became the first Bellator light heavyweight champion to make a successful title defense when he defeated Joey Beltran by knockout at Bellator 124. Vassell (14-3, 1NC) is currently on a nine fight winning streak and three of those wins have come in Bellator. His last two victories have come by rear-naked choke submission and the most recent victory came in July at Bellator 122 against Virgil Zwicker.
