Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will look to snap a two fight losing streak in April as he will meet Edson Barboza at UFC 197 in Las Vegas.
The fight booking was announced on Wednesday night’s episode of UFC Tonight on FS2.
UFC 197 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 23 and will be headlined by a title fight rematch as Daniel Cormier defends the light heavyweight title against former champion Jon Jones.
Pettis (18-4) is coming off a decision lost to Eddie Alvarez at UFC Fight Night 81 and both of his recent defeats have come by decision. His last win came at the end of 2014 as he defeated Gilbert Melendez by submission. Barboza (16-4) will also enter this fight following a defeat as he lost to Tony Ferguson in December. He is 3-3 in his last six fights and he has won the Fight of the Night bonus in his last two fights.
