A women’s strawweight bout that was recently reported is now official for April’s UFC 197 as Jessica Aguilar will look for her first win in the UFC when she meets Juliana Lima.
UFC officials confirmed the fight booking on Monday following a report from the Las Vegas Review Journal.
UFC 197 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 23 and will be headlined by a title fight rematch as Daniel Cormier defends the light heavyweight title against former champion Jon Jones.
Aguilar (19-5) lost her UFC debut last year when she lost a decision to Claudia Gadelha at UFC 190. The defeat snapped a ten fight winning streak as her previous defeat came in 2010 against Zolia Frausto at Bellator 31. Lima (8-2) has won back to back fights since dropping her UFC debut against current champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Her most recent win came in May of last year as she won a decision against Ericka Almeida at UFC Fight Night 67.
