UFC Fight Night 83 took place this Sunday at the CONSOL Energy Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was headlined by Donald Cerrone defeating Alex Oliveira by submission in the first round.
According to Nielson sources, the main card broadcast on FS1 had an average live audience of 983,000 viewers and the peak viewership for the event was 1,207,000 viewers (11:30 – 11:38 p.m. ET). The viewership from Sunday was up 11 percent versus the 2015 UFC Fight Night total year average (983,000 vs. 883,000).
Prior to the main card broadcast, the televised preliminary card was also shown on FS1 and the two hour preliminary card drew an average audience of 829,000 viewers This is up 2 percent from the preliminary card of the UFC Fight Night card from last year at this time (2/22/15).
When it came to the competition on Sunday evening, the night was won by the Walking Dead on AMC. The airing at 9 p.m. ET had 13.4 million viewers and the episode that aired at 10 p.m. ET came in with 5.6 million viewers. Other top shows on Sunday night included Real Housewives of Atlanta (3.1 million), Keeping up with the Kardashians (1.9 million), and Shameless (1.6 million).
