The professional debut of flyweight Michael Whaley will take place tonight at APEX Fights 10 in Kingsport, Tennessee as he will meet Devin Ward in the fight card coming from the Kingsport Civic Auditorium.
Whaley had seven fights as an amateur and his last amateur fight came in November at USFFC 25. On Thursday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Whaley previewed his fight against Ward and explained why he decided to turn pro after a seven fight amateur run.
“After facing so many game opponents at the amateur level, I felt that I had gained the experience to make that step up and further test my capabilities,” Whaley said. “That is what I love to do. I love testing myself.”
