Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Corey Anderson added to UFC 198

A light heavyweight bout has been added to May’s UFC 198 in Brazil as former UFC champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will meet Ultimate Fighter 19 winner Corey Anderson.

The fight booking was announced on late Tuesday afternoon.

UFC 198 will take place on May 14 at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil and will be headlined by a title fight as Fabricio Werdum defends the heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic.

Rua (23-10) is coming off a win in August at UFC 190 against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and had been scheduled to face Rashad Evans in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 19. He was recently pulled from that event due to an injury and this will be his fourth straight fight to take place in his home country of Brazil. Anderson (8-1) has won his last three fights and is coming off a decision victory at UFC 196 earlier this month. He has won five of his six fights in the UFC and four of those wins have come by decision.
