Unbeaten bantamweight Rico DiSciullo will return to competition for the first time on Saturday at CES MMA 35 since August of last year when he will have a rematch against Jake Constant on the fight card coming from Beverly, Massachusetts.
DiSciullo (5-0, 1NC) was scheduled to return in January, but an illness during fight week forced him to pull out of the event. For that fight card, he went through multiple opponent changes and that has happened for this event as well. When he was a guest on this past Thursday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” DiSciullo was scheduled to face Randy McCullough. However, McCullough pulled out of the fight and Constant stepped up to have a rematch with DiSciullo on short notice.
With everything that has happened over the last couple of months for DiSciullo, he explained on “The MMA Report Podcast” that is has been itching to get back into mixed martial arts competition and he is also anxious to compete on Saturday night at CES MMA 35.
“I had a really good training camp last time,”DiSciullo said. “Ended up switching a couple of opponents on me like the week of. I unexpectedly got really sick so it would have not really mattered. But I had a full training camp and everything went good besides that last week of getting sick. Everything that I had gone over, I just continued on in this training camp. And like you said, I am just itching to get back in there. I have had pretty much back to back training camps over and over that have just helped me kind of prepare for whatever. But also, really anxious to get in there, put on a show and do what you have been working on.
