The opening bout of tonight’s Shamrock FC: No Mercy main card in St. Louis will be a vacant amateur lightweight title fight as Evan Elder will meet Issac Purnell.
Elder (2-0) made his amateur debut in July of last year and he is coming off a decision win against Nathan Stearns in December. On Thursday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Elder talked about his fight tonight and explained the best advice he has received in this sport.
“Just work hard. There is no substitute for working hard,” Elder said. “I love this saying that hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. I am going to try to get the technique behind it, but as long as I work keeping hard, I know it’s going to get me there.”
