Aaron Poston talks about donating his Shamrock FC 272 fight purse to “Fight for Parker”

Aaron Poston will be looking for his third straight victory next Friday night at Shamrock FC 272 in Kansas City, Missouri as he will meet Rodney Allison on the fight card coming from the Ameristar Casino.

Poston (11-4) has won his last two fights by rear-naked choke submission in the opening round and his most recent victory came in March against Shane Hutchison at Shamrock FC: Retaliation.

If you have followed the mixed martial arts career of Poston, you are likely aware that he fights for a cause in his fights. For his fight in March against Hutchison, he was raising money for Blake Cazier and for this fight, he is donating his fight purse to Parker Monhollon.

“The way I became aware of it is actually, Parker lives in a small town outside of where I grew up actually,” Poston said on The MMA Report Podcast. “When I was in college, I would still keep in touch with people from the town. I had some friends and they let me know about it and everything. I sent a message to Parker’s mother on Facebook and wanted to make sure they were ok with me doing the fight for her and everything. It may sound weird a little bit, but I always like to ask the family. Ask the parents or whoever it may be, if they are ok with it.”

“Those who are not completely familiar with Parker, she has a disease called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). It just boils down to a brain tumor and it attacks motor functions and everything. She was diagnosed January 15 and currently there is no cure for it or anything like that. She has been going back and fourth to Germany. Getting different treatments and it’s helping her quite a bit. Everybody nationwide trying to raise awarness and get more funding for it.”
