Drew Dober has a new opponent for next month’s UFC 203 as Erik Koch has pulled out of the fight due to an injury and Dober’s new opponent will be Ultimate Fighter 22 alum Jason Gonzalez.
The fight change was announced by the UFC on Thursday.
UFC 203 will come from the Quicken Loans Arena on September 10 and will be headlined by a title fight as Stipe Miocic defends the UFC heavyweight title against Alistair Overeem.
Gonzalez (10-2) was a member of Team USA during The Ultimate Fighter 22 and was defeated by Abner Lloveras in the elimination round. Following the show, he returned to competition at RFA 38 in June and defeated Chris Padilla by TKO. Dober (16-7, 1NC) enters this fight following a victory as he defeated Scott Holtzman by decision at UFC 195. He is 2-1, 1NC in his last four fights and will be looking for back to back wins for the first time since 2013.
