Danny Castillo won his second straight fight with a decision victory over Tim Means on the preliminary card of UFC on FOX 8. 
In the opening 30 seconds of the fight, Castillo slipped on a head kick and had to cover up before being able to bring Means to the ground. Once bring Means down, he had top position and worked his ground strikes.
While on the ground, Castillo landed several short elbows before Means was able to get back to his feet. As Means got back to his feet, Castillo took the fight back to the ground but Means would once again back to his feet and he landed several knees that stunned Castillo.
Castillo would once again take the fight to the ground and had top position on the ground. Castillo would land a couple of short strikes before the end of the round and the fight headed into the second round.
In the second round, Castillo looked to take the fight to the ground in the opening 30 seconds but Means was able to stop the attempt. After three minutes of striking, Castillo was able to get the fight to the ground and once again had top position. Means would get back to his feet but Castillo would once again take him to the ground before the round came to an end.
As the final round opened, Castillo was able to land a right hand but Means landed a knee as Castillo went for a takedown. They continued to battle on the feet and Means land several clean strikes. Castillo would get the fight back to the ground and Means was able to reverse the position with less than one minute left in the fight. Castillo got back to his feet with 40 seconds left and the fight would end in this position.
All three judges scored the fight for Castillo (16-5) and has won five of his last six fights. Means (18-5-1) has dropped back to back fights after winning his first two fights in the UFC.
