UFC President Dana White said last week that Georges St-Pierre wanted to place Nick Diaz next and Diaz’s manager/trainer Cesar Gracie has tweeted that the fight is a go.

It has been reported over the past couple of days that the UFC has been targeting to have this fight take place on March 16th in Montreal at UFC 158. The UFC has not officially announced that UFC 158 will take place in Montreal, but that announcement is expected soon.
Diaz (26-8, 1NC) is currently under suspension with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and can re-apply for a license at the beginning of February. He should have no issues getting a license when the NSAC meets in February.
St-Pierre (23-2) recently returned after a 18 month layoff due to an injury and defeated Carlos Condit by decision at UFC 154 last month. It was his tenth straight victory and his fifth straight win by decision.
This is not the first time that the UFC has tried to make this fight as it was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 137 last year. The fight was scratched when Diaz did not show up to a press conference. After Diaz won at UFC 137, the UFC looked to schedule the fight again at UFC 143, but St-Pierre suffered a knee injury and once again the fight was scratched.
