A lightweight bout has been added to next weekend’s Strikeforce fight card in Oklahoma City as Pat Healy will be taking on Kurt Holobaugh.
Strikeforce officials confirmed to TheMMAReport.com on Friday that the fight is official and will take place on the preliminary card on Showtime Extreme.
Healy (28-16) was originally scheduled to face Gilbert Melendez in the main event of the fight card, but the fight was canceled because Melendez would not be ready to fight because of a recent injury. He has currently won five in a row and has gone 6-1 in Strikeforce.
Holobaugh (7-0) will be making his Strikeforce debut next week against Healy and six of his career victories are by submission. His last two victories have come by rear-naked choke submission and four of his wins have come in the first round.
Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine takes place next Saturday night in Oklahoma City and will be headlined by Strikeforce welterweight champion Nate Marquardt defending his title against Tarec Saffiedine.
