Vacant welterweight title fight headlines RFA 43 on September 9 in Colorado

The vacant welterweight title will be on the line in the main event of RFA 43 on September 9 at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado as Brian Camozzi will meet Nick Barnes.

The fight booking was announced by RFA President Ed Soares today.

“RFA loves coming to Colorado,” stated Soares. “Our welterweight division has a long and exciting history in the state. On Friday, September 9th, Brian Camozzi and Nick Barnes will continue that tradition. I am looking forward to their title fight at RFA 43.”

Camozzi (6-2) is currently on a four fighting winning streak and is coming off a knockout win at RFA 37 against Kenneth Glenn. All of his wins have come by stoppage and five of those wins have come in the opening round. Barnes (11-1) enters this fight with back to back victories and his most recent win came last month against Jose Diaz at RFA 38. Nine of his eleven wins have come by stoppage and six of those wins have come by submission.
