Hahaha, hahaha, what a way for Jacare Souza to welcome in his brand new 8 fight UFC contract by promptly getting stopped via strikes against Robert Whittaker. Jacare Souza, welcome to the Michael Bisping club of always being that one away from earning a possible title shot and never getting there. That’s three times Jacare Souza has come up short from earning a title shot, 1) He lost to a artificially enhanced Yoel Romero, who was suspended after that fight, 2) Jacare Souza was unable to step in for a injured Chris Weidman to fight Luke Rockhold for the UFC Middleweight title because Jacare Souza was injured himself, 3) and he got stopped via strikes by Robert Whittaker. Jacare Souza is a BULLY FIGHTER and he showed that when he is not able to be a BULLY, he is totally clueless in his stand game. But on the bright side, Jacare Souza has a brand new 8 fight UFC contract to improve on his stand up striking in his UFC fights.

UFC’s Women’s Strawweight division is so new that I don’t think the rankings are really that accurate. It’s still a division that is establishing a pecking order, so to speak. That was a nice victory by Rose Namajunas, but she is only 6-3 in her career on a one fight winning streak and hardcore fans are talking about her getting a title shot. That is hilarious. Rose Namajunas is a very impressive young prospect, unfortunately, there is no avenue to slow build her in the UFC. Good luck to her.

Yes, I know Jason Floyd, and that is exactly my point, some of these female MMA fighters in the UFC are being pushed to be stars too fast, too soon, and Rose Namajunas is one of those female MMA fighters that is being pushed to the top too fast, too soon. Think about it, Rose Namajunas did lose her previous fight against Karolina Kowalkiewicz before getting a win against Michelle Waterson. I just don’t understand the race to push her to the top after only nine fights where she is just 6-3.

It’s just the state of the division at this point. The only other fighter I think you could look at as a potential contender would be Tecia Torres, but she lost to Rose last year. If she could get a top five type win in the UFC, she would be someone to consider for a title shot.
