Bellator 159 took place this past Friday night at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas and the event was headlined by Joe Taimanglo scoring one of the biggest upsets in Bellator history as he defeated Darrion Caldwell by submission.

In the preliminary television ratings (Live+SD), the fight card had 668,000 viewers and the card saw a 6 percent increase in viewership in the +3 DVR ratings with 709,000 viewers. The fight card peaked at 1,015,000 viewers and Bellator 159 ranked number one in viewership for sports programming on cable on Friday, July 22.

    Not bad. Bellator seems to have a fan base of about 600,000 to 700,000. Now the next thing is to be able to grow that audience.
