The Bellator MMA season nine middleweight tournament final is now set following Bellator 102 and Mikkel Parlo will meet Brennan Ward at Bellator 107 on November 8th in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
Bellator MMA Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney announced the date of the fight at the post fight press conference.
Ward defeated Joe Pacheco in the opening bout of the Bellator 102 main card on Friday night at the Visalia Convention Center and Parlo used his striking to score a decision victory over Jason Butcher.
The winner of the tournament final between Ward and Parlo will win the $100,000 prize and will earn a title shot in the middleweight division. Current middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko will make his next title defense at Bellator 108 on November 15th against Doug Marshall. The winner of this tournament will likely get their title shot at the beginning of 2014 against the winner of the upcoming title fight.
Along with the tournament final at Bellator 107, Rebney stated that he is hoping to have Eduardo Dantas defending the bantamweight title against Summer Series tournament winner Rafael Silva on the same card, who defeated Anthony Leone on Friday night to earn his title shot.
Bellator 107 will take place from the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma and this will be the third time that Bellator holds a fight card their in 2013. Tickets are currently on sale and Rebney stated that half of the tickets for the event have already been sold.
